As July wrapped up, without really thinking much about it, I found myself working to put together a batch of red velvet ice cream with cream cheese frosting swirl. A long-time dependable recipe for this was put aside for a different version, which still turned out great...although I felt more secure holding on to the cream cheese swirl that I'd always employed. The base was made on Sunday, the ice cream was churned on Monday and the frosting swirl prepped, and it was left to set up fully to be broken out for dessert on Tuesday night. This dessert is so wonderful, and that's in part why I cannot make it too very often.
