Last Saturday morning, I whipped up a second batch of vanilla ice cream, using another recipe from King Arthur Baking, which also proved to be pretty darned tasty. Like the ice cream I served up with apple pie after dinner last Sunday night, it also has more whole milk than cream, unlike most of my ice creams, and there's just a terrific chewiness and flavor that comes through once it's all set up in the freezer.
