Meal No. 3410: Roasted Baby Back Ribs and Mac & Cheese

Things got a little messy last Wednesday night at dinnertime, because the menu was centered on baby back pork ribs and a huge casserole dish of Willie Mae's mac and cheese; not to be completely overshadowed was a creamy heap of southern coleslaw with my mother's recipe as my starting point. These delicious indulgences stand solidly as towering temptations when put before the diners once mealtime arrives; the conversation slows and the silence accentuates the sloppiness, but we've got plenty of napkins and no fewer than six couches and loveseats in this great old manse. Somehow we all survive.
