On Sunday afternoon, while the rain showers blew through and still could not put a damper on the great celebration, I got to go down to Lake Thom-A-Lex Park for a gathering to honor the recent graduations of the sons of a dear friend and colleague. An umbrella in one hand, and plates of Cap'n Crunch cookies in the other, it was a joyous occasion to be a part of.
The first blooms of the astra blue balloon flowers have emerged, as captured last Saturday morning (above), and now the two kinds of daylilies have also begun blooming on either side of the front steps:
It was a weekend of simple no-effort suppers, for some reason: just cheese and crackers and a splash (or two) of cheap wine.
