When across-the-street neighbors Jessica and Mike were here on Tuesday night, I figured it was not too soon to spring upon Jessica the death by chocolate cake that I'd promised to make for her birthday, which occurs later in the month. It's a sinful sensation, overwhelming in its chocolaty-ness, tall and proud in its layers, supremely smothered by the devilishly rich frosting...and hidden within and dancing atop are drizzles of homemade hot fudge sauce. With all that madness afoot, one must cut its craziness with some counterbalancing classic vanilla ice milk, no?
