April swooped in with rain and wind that persisted through mid-day yesterday, before giving way to lots of sun, even stronger gusts, and surprisingly warm temperatures. After chalking up just over five miles on my downtown stroll while it was so pleasant, I reported for my duties in the kitchen to be ready for Amy and Gern to come over last evening. A quick option, dependent on things I already had on hand, was in my mind offering them some same-old-same-old...but it turns out they'd never partaken of the Boogaloo Wonderland Sandwiches that are a regular feature and an upgrade from sloppy joes. Some macaroni salad was all the side that was needed, given how filling two of these (served open-faced, rather than on French bread) turned out to be.
