The delight of a holiday week of guests continued last Tuesday night, and on our dinner menu was ultimate cream of tomato soup along with grilled cheese sandwiches on homemade peasant bread.
There was a hankering for more of those grilled cheeses but alas! I was skillet-limited to the first six in order to get dinner served at the promised time.
Still, it turns out that this tomato soup is every bit as delicious with vegetable broth as with chicken stock, and that's worth keeping in mind for future appearances.
Our dessert plan involved finishing out the other half of the chocolate tres leches cake, even more scrumptious with more time to set up and soak those milks in...and then the crew walked up to a/perture cinema, our local independent arthouse theatre on Fourth Street, to enjoy the hilarious and amazing movie Thelma. What a triumph of filmmaking!
