Saturday night a week ago, in the midst of a very chilly spring weekend with blustery breezes afoot, it seemed like a pot of soup was needed. A long afternoon for the 3-hour The Batman at a/perture cinema was the prelude to supper prep, which took place quickly (and even allowed me a quick downtown walking workout while the tomatoes roasted). Some terrific grilled cheese sandwiches paired excellently with this creamy bowl of goodness.
The abundance of soup allowed sharing with the neighbor down the street as well as a container for later leftovers, which happened on the penultimate day of March at mid-day...with a new fresh grilled cheese sandwich.
