Primarily because I still had some rare and delicious whiskey sauce left over from the New Orleans Pecan Pie Bread Pudding I'd made, I wanted to see how it paired with a Kentucky butter cake...and the answer is: deliciously.
Such a tender crumb, and it soaked up not just the butter sauce that you pour on the hot cake, but also the whiskey sauce too. My goodness, I did not need all that sugar but I acted rather like I did.
It was a rather awesome conclusion to a fine Sunday at the end of March.
