Thursday a week ago was rainy and dreary, with occasional heavy downpours and overnight thunderstorms. Once things cleared out on Friday, around mid-day, the sun really came on hard and got temps up into the lower 80s. Sumner and I overdid it on our walk, taking about two hours to hustle just over 7 miles through the Holly Avenue, Ardmore, Buena Vista, Hanes Highlands, and West End Neighborhoods. But what a great day for that stroll.
The grove here at the house was looking pretty smashing.
The cherry trees were in full bloom.
I was afraid there'd be no sunshine during their peak glory in order to get decent pics this year, but that sunny afternoon opened up some nice opportunities to capture this spring splendor.
Before tackling dinner, Sumner and I got to hang out on the driveway to enjoy that afternoon. I got the briefest glimpse of the blue bird couple again before they flitted away, meaning I captured no pictures of them.
The breezes kept it from feeling too warm and just made outside time simply awesome.
For supper, I let the sous vide immersion circulator take care of some prepped Peruvian-spiced chicken thighs, and I added oversalted and crispy roasted broccoli florets and stovetop stuffing to complete the plates. Those foodstuffs were scarfed down in quick fashion.
