Once I'd done enough circuits of the kitchen hoping for inspiration for supper on Sunday, I decided it would begin with making a couple of loaves of peasant bread. Then I put bacon in the oven to roast a while before adding a chile rub to it. I made a batch of spicy ranch dressing and set butter out to soften. As the dinner hour came on, I started assembling everything for griddled turkey cheddar bacon ranch sandwiches, which were rather outstanding.
