After three solid days of work at an elementary school in DC, I was grateful to be dismissed mid-day last Thursday so that I could escape the worst traffic and also get home by dinnertime. It's why I'd fried up extra bacon before I left, knowing it'd come in handy for a quick supper production once I got home: toasted bacon cheddar sandwiches. They are not exactly remarkable, but they're remarkably good. And I got to eat them near a new addition to the household, ever so grateful to my dear colleague Debra, who thoughtfully brought this to our lunch last week:
