Meal No. 3515: New Year's Day Meatballs

In honor of the beginning of the New Year, the ideal meal choice was the long-time family favorite of New Year's Day meatballs. The faithful starchy side of company mashed potatoes was obligatory as well, one might say, and I settled for canned green beans to finish out the menu. Well received by the small cluster at the table, with enough left over for a couple of next-day lunches...it was a fine first meal of 2024.

We retreated to the third floor for another movie night afterwards, with Meg 2: The Trench as the goofy action-packed light fare on the bill. That's when dessert appeared, having by then had time to cool and set up into a perfect creamy consistency: Meyer lemon pudding. Lordy, we all fantasized about having a 55-gallon drum of that each to ourselves.
