The first Friday in November in downtown Winston-Salem was stunningly gorgeous and pleasantly warm and fully sunny...once the fog and chill of the morning burned off. It was perfect for more raking but also for planting bulbs and giving the front yard yet another mowing. (Yes: it's November and my lawn is still full and thick and green and luscious.) With a late afternoon wrap-up of those joyous outdoor exploits, I had to fall back yet again on the available foodstuffs and a quick turnaround to plated suppers. Battered grilled Monte Cristo-adjacent ham and turkey and cheese sandwiches. Pretty darned tasty, once more.
