Meal No. 3753: Small-Time Prime Rib Dinner

On the day before Thanksgiving, the group's plans shifted around and it turns out I still needed to put together something for dinner. I bulked up a small idea and managed to get myself to a pretty frantic state while failing to get it all to come together according to the fantasy dancing seductively in my head. By the time it was all ready to be plated, there was a small prime rib roast, that had come out too early and cooled down too much (but no gravy sauce), pictured above. Below is a shot of a new take on potatoes au gratin:

The meal brought a return after a multi-year absence to Brussels sprouts gratin:

And a new experiment with dinner rolls somehow survived my bumbling uncertainty (and hand-mixing!) to go along with the meal's various timings:

I guess having polite guests who are always encouraging is a bonus, but I didn't mean to ask so very much of their generous spirits while they choked it all down. Speaking of generous: they kindly bought my ticket for A Real Pain, our late evening movie venture up the street at a/perture cinema.
