After we had our fill at the dining room table on Thanksgiving night this year, we hustled upstairs to the third floor for a grand movie night: Home for the Holidays. Amazed that that film is now almost 30 years old and enjoying it as much as ever, it was a new reel for a few and an old favorite for the rest of us. Then, we had to journey back downstairs for the selfless act of sampling the Thanksgiving meal's sweet conclusions: espresso chocolate pecan pie (a new recipe for me), and lemon buttermilk pie (a recipe I've had for 20 years!).
Many took a slim slice of each and a couple limited themselves to just the lemon pie, but all seemed to be happy with their choices.
