Meal No. 1456: Pipetizer Casserole
Last Saturday night's meal at the Roediger House was a comforting casserole, full of cheese and meat and flavor, served on paper plates while another episode of The 100 played on the TV upstairs. Named "Pipetizer Casserole," in honor of visiting friend Jon Piper one of the first times I ever made it, this dish makes semi-regular appearances because it's just always so freaking good. That night it was among the best, I might add, leading me to completely overindulge.
"Pipetizer Casserole" is an adaptation of "Tailgate Casserole," from The Big Book of Casseroles, by Maryana Vollstedt. San Francisco: Chronicle Books (2000), p. 120.
