Last Friday night, the first day of the new year was another casual gathering of the crew, with five of us here for dinner, pool, and hanging out. I made no run to the grocery store but I could still put supper in front of everybody by making ultimate cream of tomato soup along with buttered grilled cheese sandwiches.
I've got to figure out how to use the panini press without cooking half of the cheese out of the grilled cheese sandwiches. Fortunately, several diners indicated preferences for burned cheese.
