Vanilla Birthday Cake with Old-Fashioned Vanilla Buttercream
At the end of the weekend following the Sunday dinner for a small crew, there was a tasty new concoction available for any who were interested in dessert: vanilla birthday cake with vanilla buttercream. Even though the dinner menu had included delicious belly-filling lasagna, we all just did manage to squeeze in this sweet goodness.
Now, I'm certainly ignorant about cake decorating, so my cakes never look all that pretty. And this one looked crumbly, as if it might be dry...but it was moist and delicious. We all liked it, sure enough.
