Let Me Be Whiny
I absolutely hate winter anyway, so this may become the part of this project that really starts to stress me out. I mean, surviving the three days without water when the temps got into single digits over the weekend ended up not being that big a deal. But tonight, this fair home is enduring wind gusts that are up to 20 mph, and the house is too drafty for that even when it's not opened up to the elements. The blue tarp that's covering the big window cut-out in the attic gable keeps stretching and pulsating, making an eerie noise, and occasionally making the whole house shake when the wind makes it jerk just so.
So, you get two pictures here. The first shows that, in spite of the luxuriously warm setting of 70 degrees on the downstairs thermostat, the main entry hallway was a mere 64 degrees at around 10 pm tonight. The second picture is of the indoor/outdoor time and temperature clock that's hanging in the dining room/temporary kitchen. It's 18 degrees outside, and 49 degrees inside. Granted, I've got this clock hanging on the OSB sealing the doorway from the dining room into the addition, but the butter I set out to make cookies with tonight feels like it was still in the fridge. Stand at the NW dining room window and you can feel the cold air blowing in.
