We've been on the lookout for this invasion, especially since the first big infestation in North Carolina was in the neighboring city of Kernersville, in eastern Forsyth County. Last Saturday afternoon, I looked in front of me as I sat in the good weather under the Bradford pear tree, and there it was on the bark at perfect height for me to knock it down, see its markings, and crush its head and belly. We're pretty sure this is a losing battle but that will not be the moth that does me in.
