Last Monday took a turn toward the cool, with an autumn feel and strong breezes, and leaves were abundant on the driveway and around the yard. The latter half of October was at last sending up the warning flares of the colder days coming, and which put me on the trail of a fine pot of soup. Without making a grocery run, I knew I could pull it off with pantry staples, and into our three bowls for the latest boys' night was cheddar potato soup. We all went back for seconds of that tasty grub, leaving just the right amount for a single to-go container when Mookie headed out for the night.
