First & Only Fire of the Winter

Somehow this entire chilly winter has managed to go by without my lighting up a single fire in the new fireplace, included as part of the new kitchen and the addition to the house. Last year, I had a fire on five different evenings, if my memory and blog-count are correct.

Maybe I've been too involved with meals and such to set aside time for sitting and enjoying the crackle and light and warmth of a good wood fire.

So with the temperatures getting down to a dastardly low of 30 last night, I finally put a match to the logs that I'd laid quite some time ago in anticipation of just such an occasion as this.

And I said: "This is good."
