Among all things holy and good, there is homemade vanilla ice cream. The recipe I use comes from the much-loved Barbara Matthews, and it was the delicious treat following a recent gathering of folks for indoor pulled pork barbecue. It had been quite a while since I'd used my big rock-and-salt ice cream freezer. I could not get enough of it!
