Vanilla Cake and Eggnog Ice Cream
With the big gathering of the most regular Roediger House crew last Saturday night, I also had a couple of desserts to help us finish out the evening. A very vanilla birthday cake with a decadent vanilla buttercream icing occupied one part of our small plates, and eggnog ice cream was offered to double the pleasure.
That cake has always been a hit when I've made it. But this was the first time following the David Lebovitz recipe for eggnog ice cream...I'd always gone with the Bi-Rite Creamery version for past batches. The gathered crew responded favorably!
