This past Thursday night, the Roediger House got to enjoy the extra bonus of an overnight visit by good friend (and former RoHo regular) Trevor. He was an undergrad in the final group of social studies education students I worked with at Wake Forest, and he continued in town for a couple of years while teaching at one of the local middle schools.
But he's been out in California since 2009 (good grief, how time flies) and has only been back a time or two for a visit here.
On the dinner table, a return to a slow-cooker version of Chicken Tikka Masala, and it was mighty good. I made it quite a few times when that issue of Cuisine at Home first showed up at the start of 2011, and then only once each year from 2012 through 2016 (those are tidbits that can be mined from the blog of someone who's a little OCD-ish). The roasted cauliflower was also pretty spot on.
After our good supper, Trevor mostly kicked my butt at pool.
