Summer Sunflowers
The dry summer and the overwhelming heat do not seem to have slowed down the emergence of sunflowers under my bird feeders, where sunflower seeds have a tendency to fall. I guess the squirrels did not get all of them before they were able to sprout and take root.
I also like that there was a spunky male cardinal nearby, with a strange cock to his head, while I was snapping this shot.
