I pretty much moved into and began using the new kitchen area in late May of 2009. But I managed to leave the desk hutch, beside the fireplace, as a junk heap and repository of paper and mail and things I was avoiding dealing with.
Not so very long ago, I finally sorted through all that mess and got the area cleaned up and moved the iMac from the south parlour to this more proper location. I still do most of my work on my laptop, but I've found in the intervening months that it is not uncommon for dinner guests to sit down and look up things or want to show a YouTube video or somesuch. So it's handy.
