All it took was about half a container of sour cream that was just about to expire to weaken my resolve and plunge me into loaf cake making. Specifically, it was a lemon loaf cake that is supposed to conjure what Starbucks is noted for, with its sharp sweet tang and it's drizzly lemon glaze. That was an unexpected Sunday morning endeavor over the weekend, perhaps a small act of quiet rebellion about the return of a grey and chilly day, where my simmering anger at the somber atmosphere was insufficient for elevating my body temperature. But hey: fine slices of lemon loaf cake were an easer of the foul attitude burden.
