On a Saturday morning during vacation when I wake up at 4:30 am, I get to thinking about things I can make. So up and out of bed by 5:30 and to the kitchen with irish cream scones on my mind. Going against what the instructions said, I decided to use my scone pan for these, but that was not the right move, because they were too thick and didn't cook all the way through on first go-round.
So I put them back in for a while and they turned out better. With a large mug of fresh-brewed coffee, this was a sweet start to the first Saturday in July.
