The off-year election day found me back at home from what was supposed to be a full week up in Virginia. But one of the schools needed to postpone and it gave me a chance to run back to Winston for two nights. So last Tuesday morning I put some ripe bananas to work for a couple of prized loaves of banana bread, which served as a sizable mid-day snack before I turned my attention to chores and errands.
