Tying the Record High Temperature for February
This past Sunday, I headed out of Winston-Salem for a few days of work up in Virginia, and I really, really hated to leave behind that phenomenally gorgeous day, with my daffodils fully blooming and four or five crocuses having opened up (as shown above).
I must also fret at having to head up into cooler climes when we managed to bust the old record high temp for that date (by EIGHT DEGREES!) and also to tie the all-time record high for any day in February.
Note: The official temp out at Smith Reynolds Airport [KINT] was 79°F...but that was still a record for the date.
