With the joy of time at home last week, the evenings were devoted to catching up with compatriots whose company I'm missing so much while my travel has been quite heavy. A seasonably appropriate dessert came to mind to cover us for last Wednesday and Thursday: pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese frosting. First stumbled on when a former neighbor wanted a special birthday cake for his October-born wife a few years ago, this rascal has consistently delighted its consumers each time I've made it. That includes me, and I gladly exercise executive decision-making for bringing it back whenever possible.
