I have a tendency to over-make pasta carbonara, especially when I'm doing a lot of traveling, because I can throw it together quickly and usually without having to go to the store. Today was another day where I ran short on time and needed to get some food on the table, and pasta carbonara based on guidance from my friend Monie Lawrence usually does us all right.
