Territorial Aggressions

My big spacious open windows in the kitchen area have let me bear witness to two fun territory defense actions by the local birdlife: this morning, I watched two blue jays chasing and attacking a hapless squirrel, and just now I saw a fearless mockingbird send a much, much larger hawk scurrying.

I'm hoping this is a sign that the blue jays have nested around here. But I'm also ready to see some fierce feasting by a well-aimed hawk.
