Some time back I'd stocked up on Bourbon Barrel-Aged Sexual Chocolate Imperial Stout from Foothills Brewing, which happens to be just around the corner from the house. I am not a regular stout drinker but got a case of it for special occasions and special guests.
On Saturday night, though, I pulled out a bottle for two good purposes, the first of which was to make a small batch of beef stew. This paired great with the remaining Yukon buttery mashed potatoes from the previous evening's grilled pork chops.
