Red Velvet Ice Cream with (White & Blue) Cream Cheese Swirl

The celebratory Fourth of July dinner with a table filled with friends occurred on Monday night (strategically scheduled since everyone had Tuesday off). The dessert that followed was a return to red velvet ice cream, which is utterly delicious in all the best possible ways, and I dressed it up a bit by making the cream cheese swirl both blue and white to go with the festive patriotic holiday. Just to make sure we overdid it once we dove into post-dinner sweet treats, I also had Doubletree Hotel-style chocolate chip cookies, fresh made that afternoon...
