Meal No. 647: Standing Rib Roast

I'm cooking like it's the holidays. And also like it's a good opportunity to have good friends over and to enjoy an evening with folks who mean a lot to me. Tonight I was so pleased that Jen Watson and Jen Martin came over. It has been a week since Jen Watson's mother passed away (the funeral was Friday on a brilliantly sunny December afternoon) and it never seems like we can do enough to help people in troubled grieving times. A full belly (and more of the creamy cinnamon chips cheesecake) were the best I could offer but I think it was well-received.
