Meal No. 397: Hamburger Supreme

One of the nice benefits of the days I work in Richmond County, NC, is that I'm usually able to get home before dinnertime, and that means I can cook. It helps if it's something simple, and the cooler temps of late made me interested in a comfort meal.

Hence, tonight's dish was something I grew up with, at least starting after my sister Janice married a dairy farmer in 1974, and got this recipe from her then-mother-in-law. For me, the perfect way to have it is with apple sauce and corn. Tonight, it was just the corn, but I heaped it up on the plate.

"Hamburger Supreme," from the late Mrs. John T. (Glynn) Johnson of Buies Creek, North Carolina, via Janice Jones Bodenhamer.
