Bradford's Bloomers Bursting

Spring 2011 approaches. Last weekend, the clocks were set an hour ahead for the start of daylight saving time, and the temps were glorious and the days sunny. And while I'm writing this blog post in the middle of a day-or-so-long cold snap (with cold rain and dreary skies outside), I find myself thinking back to the beauty of the Bradford pear in the "grove" at the southeast front corner of the yard.

This is how it looked this past Sunday afternoon. And I bet the cherry trees that neighbor it will be blooming nicely when I return to Winston-Salem on Friday.
