Let the summer season begin!
While it got pretty hot and humid yesterday, everything about the warm air and stiff breezes screamed summertime to me. It felt like the perfect evening to kick off grilling season, and a perennial favorite is a very accessible recipe for juicy burgers on the grill, which almost always seem to be a hit. So, with a small crew on hand (including my former Wake Forest grad student Bradley Phillis, pictured here with me), it was a Sunday night of jawing on the front porch and feasting on burgers with a side of blue cheese coleslaw.
A stroll down to Wolfie's Custard on Fourth Street completed the good evening for all of us.
